***How to Blog

Warning: posting any content online –anywhere– as part of any blog, including the Writers of the Far South Coast blog (or even on Facebook) is considered “publishing“. This may be important to you in the future should you try and enter a piece into a competition that requests “unpublished” work.

  1. Login by entering the email address you gave the club when you became a member or signed up to the newsletter and your password into the appropriate fields.

  2. If you do not know your password, or have not chosen one yet, click here to follow a different step-by-step guide to login for the first time.
  3. After logging in, you will be taken back to the homepage of the Writers of the Far South Coast, however, the menu at the top will have changed slightly. Screen Shot 2016-08-16 at 5.30.10 PM
  4. Click on “Dashboard”
  5. Choose “Posts” -> “Add New”
  6. Write your post. Try and have a unique and interesting title. There is a hidden button that toggles more options in a second toolbar. You can “Add Media” by selecting from what is currently available or uploading your own pictures. Writing an “Excerpt” is like a summary of your blog post. If one is not written, the first few lines are used. You can add tags and categories to make it show up better in Google Search rankings, and you can also set an image that captures what the blog post is all about. Have a play. Explore. Don’t worry, if by the slim chance you break the website, I can easily fix it. Have fun!!!!
  7. Click the blue “Publish” button on the right.
